Delhi Arbitration Weekend 3.0 to Be Held from September 18-21

The third edition of the prestigious Delhi Arbitration Weekend (DAW 3.0) is set to take place from September 18 to 21, 2025, reaffirming India's growing role as a global hub for commercial dispute resolution. The four-day event is being jointly organised by the Supreme Court of India, the Delhi High Court, and the Delhi International Arbitration Centre (DIAC).

Building on the success of its previous editions, DAW 3.0 is expected to draw leading legal minds, arbitration practitioners, corporate counsels, judges, policymakers, and law students from India and around the world. The event will serve as a platform for substantive dialogue on the future of arbitration in India, emerging legal trends, institutional reforms, and best practices in alternative dispute resolution (ADR).

A Key Platform for Legal Innovation and Global Dialogue

With sessions covering international commercial arbitration, investment treaty disputes, technology in arbitration, institutional versus ad hoc arbitration, and cross-border enforcement of arbitral awards, DAW 3.0 aims to foster deeper cooperation between legal systems and promote confidence in India’s arbitration landscape.

Last year's edition, DAW 2.0, featured over 500 participants from 15 countries and included keynote addresses by sitting judges of the Supreme Court and international arbitration stalwarts. This year, the organising committee has promised a more diverse and engaging lineup of speakers, with a special focus on youth participation, gender inclusivity, and green arbitration practices.

Strengthening India's Position as an Arbitration Hub

In recent years, India has undertaken significant legal reforms to promote ease of doing business and encourage institutional arbitration. Events like the Delhi Arbitration Weekend not only spotlight India’s evolving legal ecosystem but also help build institutional credibility for centres like the Delhi International Arbitration Centre, which has been instrumental in streamlining arbitration proceedings in the country.

Speaking about the upcoming event, a senior official from DIAC stated, “DAW 3.0 will be a confluence of knowledge, practice, and policy. It’s not just a conference—it’s a strategic move to shape the future of arbitration in India.”

What to Expect at DAW 3.0

- Plenary sessions with Supreme Court and High Court judges
- Panel discussions featuring global arbitrators and scholars
- Masterclasses for young practitioners and students
- Networking events for legal professionals and institutions
- Launches of new research, policy papers, and toolkits on arbitration

Registration details and the final agenda for DAW 3.0 will be announced in July on the official DIAC and Delhi High Court websites.
